Flight Instructor (Contractor)

Description &Responsibilities:
The Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) provides ground and flight instruction to students using a variety of methods that include classroom training, in-flight instruction, and the use of flight simulators. Flight Instructors are responsible for ensuring individual student success through the training process of Private and Commercial pilot training programs. They play an integral role in ensuring our operations safety and work closely with the chief instructor to enhance our training experience for students.
Key Roles:
• Conducts ground and flight training operations with private, instrument, and commercial pilot students.
• Safely operates training aircraft in complaince with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Coordinates the flight training schedule with students and staff in compliance with scheduling policies.
• Fuels training aircraft as necessary.
• Provides and maintains records of necessary student pilot endorsements needed to satisfy TSA and FAA regulations.
• Maintains individual student records needed for student billing and tracking.
• Sets own rates and work schedule.
Job Requirements:
• An understanding of the Part 141 training process and FAA Airman Certification Standards
• Safely able to fit and execute flight Instruction duties in training aircraft.
Qualifications:
• Current FAA CFI certificate and Flight Review
• Current 1st, 2nd, or 3rd class Medical Certificate
• Preferred: Associates in Aeronautical Science
• Preferred: Instrument Instructor (CFII) certificate
